Late Mr. Kuppusamy shifted from Coimbatore to Erode at the age of 14 and worked as a table cleaner for 10 years at Hotel Selva Vilas near Erode railway station who later became the Manager of the said Hotel. Late Mr. Kuppusamy started a small eatery with 12 seats in 1958 in Erode where former Tamil Icons such as K. Kamaraj, MGR, Shivaji, Kalaignar, Jayalalithaa etc., became a fan of their cooking. It is to be noted that both Late Mr. Kuppusamy and Late Ms. Rukmani Amma were an exponent in Kongu regional Cuisine.
